Messaging Policy

How Ash Pay text messages work · Last updated August 30, 2026

This Messaging Policy explains the text (SMS) messages that Ash Pay ("Ash Pay," "we," "us") may send to the mobile number associated with your account, how you consent to receive them, and how to stop them at any time. It applies in addition to our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

Text alerts are optional and free to turn off. You choose whether to receive activity text alerts, you can turn them off at any time in the app or by replying STOP, and consent to marketing texts is never required to use Ash Pay.

1. The messages we send

Ash Pay sends only account- and transaction-related text messages. We do not send marketing or promotional text messages. The messages fall into two categories:

Message typePurposeWhen you receive it
Account verification codesA one-time code to verify your phone number when you create an account or sign in on a new device.Only when you request a code by signing up or signing in.
Activity alertsA short alert when you receive money or when someone requests money from you (for example: "Ash Pay: You received $150.00 from Ahmed.").Only if you have turned on text alerts, and only when that activity happens on your account.

2. How you consent (opt in)

Verification codes. When you enter your mobile number to create an account or sign in, you request and consent to receive a one-time verification code at that number. This is required to secure your account.

Activity alerts. Activity text alerts are strictly opt-in. You turn them on yourself by enabling the "Text me about activity" setting inside the Ash Pay app. By enabling it, you consent to receive account activity alerts by text at the mobile number on your account. You are not required to enable text alerts to use Ash Pay, and enabling them is not a condition of any purchase or service.

3. Message frequency

Message frequency varies and depends on your account activity. You will receive a verification code only when you request one. If you have enabled activity alerts, you will receive a message each time you receive money or a payment request.

4. Message and data rates

Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier and plan. Ash Pay does not charge you for text messages, but your carrier's standard rates may apply to messages you send or receive.

5. How to opt out (STOP)

You can turn off activity text alerts at any time in two ways:

Because verification codes are essential to securing your account, if you continue to use Ash Pay you may still receive a one-time code when you choose to sign in or register. If you do not want any messages, please stop using phone-number sign-in and contact us to close your account.
